A new course, Access://Digital Media is starting at the Youth Zone on the 25th April, for young people aged 16-21. The 6 week course aims to prepare young people for work in the creative and digital sector. The programme includes a digital advantage competition to learn about the skills required to work in TV, advertising, marketing and digital businesses, visits to the Sharp project and Spinningfields (to learn about legal aspects of digital media) and sessions to learn about customer service and first aid.
The Digital sector is one of the fastest growing areas of employment in Manchester currently, with 30,000 jobs expected to be developed over the next 5 years providing plenty of opportunity.
